This is the official webpage of The Bill Frank Radio Show and BRAINSTORMIN’ with Billy the Brain on KVTA AM 1520 and KKZZ AM 1400 in Ventura, CA. The Bill Frank Show is on Sunday at 11 o’clock am Pacific time or on the Internet at BrainStorminOnline.com.

The show’s goal is to deliver interviews with thought leaders in Business, Entertainment, Sports and the Local Community—each with a Ventura County, CA perspective. Together, we’ll listen to what these guests say and relate it to how we work and live in Ventura.

Why did I start in radio? The answer is simple. I love interviews. I love attracting the best guests to the program. I love hearing what they say, and sometimes challenging them. I always want to bring the conversation back around to what I know is important to Ventura County.

The thought leaders are more accessible than many people think. Our County presents a desirable demographic for them to get their word out. Ventura County is a cross section of California with a mix of businesses and population.

How did I choose the four categories of Business, Entertainment, Sports and the Local Community to focus in on?

The Business category is what I’m most familiar with. I have a wide ranging interest in business related subjects including marketing, sales, finance, motivation, leadership, banking, technology and leading edge thinking.

Entertainment guests are among my favorites because I’m a voyeur at heart. I want to peek behind the curtain to learn how entertainment celebrities live and work. Let’s face it; we all want to know the secret sauce behind celebrity.

When it comes to Sports guests, what can I say—I’m a guy. I like Sports. Just like entertainment celebrities, sports guests fascinate me. I want to get a glimpse of fame and fortune. I also enjoy learning the secrets of success these sports figures exude.

Local Community guests are the most interesting to me. These are business and non-profit leaders doing wonderful things in our community. Interestingly enough, non-profit organizations are growing faster than for profit businesses nationally. We’re blessed in Ventura County to have so many non-profits doing extraordinary service to the underserved in our area.

If all of this sounds like what you’d hear on National Public Radio (NPR), you’re getting the idea. The Bill Frank Show is like NPR with one difference. I categorize The Bill Frank Show as NPR done Right—with the emphasis on RIGHT.

I’m a FISCAL CONSERVATIVE. Government needs to live by the same economic rules as the rest of country—prudent spending, balanced budget and minimal services.

Socially, I’m less conservative. I approach each social issue on a case-by-case basis. For instance, I interviewed Mike Farrell earlier this year on the Death Penalty. It turns out we are both against the Death Penalty, but for different reasons. Mike was against it on humanitarian reasons; which is noble. I’m against it for more pragmatic reasons—it costs more to put a prisoner to death than it does to incarcerate the prisoner for life because of the endless appeals and legal wrangling.

You may not always agree with what my guests or I have to say. That’s OK. I defend the First Amendment right to think and say anything you want—no matter how wrong you are. Write me at Bill.Frank@KVTA.com. Tell me what you think—about the show, about life, about what’s going on in the world, about whatever’s on your minds. I’ll always honor your opinion and occasionally I’ll challenge you, too.
