Capt. John Korka Gives Insight Into Seabee Operations and Readiness

Capt. John Korka, 31st Seabee Readiness Group Commander

Captain John Korka was born in Rota, Spain.  He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from Old Dominion University in 1986 and was commissioned an Ensign through the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps program.

After completing his first Seabee tour, he attended Pennsylvania State University and received a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering.

Captain Korka’s personal decorations include the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal (4 awards), Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (4 awards), Army Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal and various other unit and service awards.

He is a graduate of the National Defense University Industrial College of the Armed Forces and the Executive Training Program at Dartmouth’s Tuck School of Business; a registered Professional Engineer; a member of the Defense Acquisition Community, and is a designated Seabee Combat Warfare Officer.

    I would love too see the document describing why that guy deserved a bronze star.he disgraced the memory bu3 Michael stramiello. Mr.korka should consider giving those leadership oriented medals to someone who deserves them.
