Christopher Nickerson, CEO of TrainingPro and National Director of the Consumer Mortgage Bureau, is addressing changes in the front end of the loan origination business. He sees a shift from an unregulated industry towards professionalism, rigorous hiring and training.
Adhering to the Consumer Mortgage Bureau standards means a minimum of pre-licensing training, both a National and State examinations, on-going education, credit bureau search, finger printing and issuance of a license.
Prior to 1999, only three states required education for mortgage brokers. Those states were California, Maryland and Texas.
