Doug Halter is originally from Northern California where he still has a large extended family.

He’s a graduate from U.C. Santa Barbara with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering.

Doug has a thriving landscape business, which he’s owned for over 15 years.

He wears many hats in the community including

  • Lead Trainer for the California State Positively Speaking program,
  • Chair of the AIDS Partnership of Ventura County,
  • Former Chair the Ventura Chamber of Commerce,
  • Board member of
    • The Visitors and Tourism Bureau,
    • The Police Activities League,
    • The Ventura Music Festival,
    • The Historic Preservation Alliance,
    • The San Buenaventura Foundation for the Arts

The Los Angeles Times declared him one of the people to watch in 1999 and he received the Ventura Citizen of the Year Award in 2001.
