Ed Koch, the former 3-term mayor of New York City, discussed his political career during our interview today. Characterizing himself as “a liberal with sanity,” Mr. Koch described how he transformed from a “ust plain liberal” into a politician who examined the issues on a cast-by-cast basis.
We sparred over the death penalty—he’s for it, I’m against. In the end, we agreed to disagree.
