Ken Corney Gives The Straight Dope on Prop 19

Ken Corney, Ventura Police Chief

Ken Corney, is Ventura’s police chief and a 23-year department veteran.

Ken runs a department with more than 200 employees and volunteers, including 131 sworn officers.

Ken holds a master’s degree in organizational management from Azusa Pacific University and a bachelor’s degree in public relations-journalism from CSU Long Beach.

We discussed California Proposition 19—The Regulate, Control and Tax Cannabis Act. Voters will go to the polls to decide the fate of this Proposition on November 2, 2010.

Our discussion revolved around the precise wording and inaccuracies in Proposition 19, not whether or not to legalize marijuana.
