Maribeth Kuzmeski, author of The Connectors, gave concrete advice for connecting in the digital age. She has a 12-step plan to improve connections. The 12 steps include:
a. Rejuvenate your résumé
b. Build your online résumé using LinkedIn
c. Get face-to-face with Potential employers (be remarkable)
d. Use video to make an impact
e. Become a contrarian networker
f. Ask questions of others. Let them do the talking.
g. Pitch yourself in 15 seconds
h. Network to people you know
i. Get involved in organizations that are related to your profession
j. Volunteer
k. Be a mover and a shaker
l. Always be networking
