Marshall Goldsmith, author of Mojo: How to Get It, How to Keep It, How to Get It Back If You Lose It, provided some timeless insight during our interview today on Brainstormin’ with Billy the Brain. His advice? Take a Breath. Think of yourself as a 95-year old looking back on your life. What would you be thinking.
Statistically, Marshall has found people reflect on three things: 1) Be Happy, 2) Build Relationships with People and 3) Go For Your Dream.
Marshall defines MOJO as the positive spirit of what you’re doing. He described those things that block MOJO as NOJO—No Joy.
Marshall made many other interesting observations. For instance, based on what he has learned from 360° Feedback, women make better leaders than men. Perhaps it’s because women aren’t trying to win too much as men so often do.
