Radio Talker Bill Press Explains Why Progressive Radio Is Alive & Well

Bill Press, author of Toxic Talk

Bill Press, talk radio show host and author of the book Toxic Talk: How the Radical Right Has Poisoned America’s Airwaves, gave his overview of the state of talk radio in America.

Using the Chris Matthews quote about Rush Limbaugh that he offers “phone sex for Chicklets reps,” Bill is referring to frustrated, middle aged white men who drive delivery truck routes and are inclined to listen to talk radio.

Bill believes that progressive radio (liberal talk radio) can sell, so long as the show is selling a consistent, cogent point of view.

Bill critiques fellow talk radio hosts during the interview.
