Steve Bennett, incumbent candidate for Ventura County Board of Supervisors, District 1

Steve Bennett has been Ventura’s County Supervisor, representing the citizens of District 1, since 2000.

In addition, Steve serves as Vice Chair of the Ventura County First 5 Commission.

Before joining the Board of Supervisors, Supervisor Bennett served on the Ventura City Council from 1993 to 1997.

Supervisor Bennett was a teacher and high school administrator for 20 years at Nordhoff High school in Ojai.

He is the co-author of the SOAR (Save Open-space and Agricultural Resources) initiatives throughout Ventura County.

He graduated in 1972 from Brown University with an Honors degree in economics, and in 1977 received a Masters in Education from Butler University.
