We’re Better Off Now Than The Kings Of Yesteryear

Matt Ridley, author of The Rational Optimist

Matt Ridley, The Rational Optimist, explains how we are better off than most kings of the past. He gives cogent examples of why we should be optimistic about the future.

A zoologist by training, his latest book, The Rational Optimist: How Prosperity Evolves, is a fusion of Adam Smith meets Charles Darwin.

Matt posits that ideas “have sex,” and as long as civilization engages in “exchange and specialization,” we will be able to reinvent ourselves and responsibly use earthly resources ad infinitum.
