Steven Hintz, Ventura County Treasurer

Judge Steven Hintz was elected to the Ventura County Tax Assessor’s office vacated by Lawrence L. Matheney in 2010.

Judge Hintz is a retired Superior Court Judge.

In June 1982, Judge Hintz was appointed to the Ventura Municipal Court and served as presiding judge from 1988-1989 until being elevated to the Superior Court. He ran without opposition when reelected to the bench in 1984, 1990, 1996 and 2002, and was named Judge of the Year in both 1984 and 1988. During his judicial tenure, he presided over 330 jury trials and 435 court trials.

Judge Hintz, his wife and two grown children reside in Ventura.
