Dr. Miguel Nicolelis Is Pioneering The Brain-Machine Interface In His Book, Beyond Boundaries
Dr. Miguel Nicolelis is the Anne W. Deane Professor of Neuroscience and co-director of Duke Center for Neuroengineering.
He is a native of Sao Paulo, Brazil, where he received his M.D. and Ph.D. in neurophysiology from the University of Sao Paulo.
Dr. Nicolelis is the first U.S. scientist to receive two top National Institutes of Health awards in the same year as a result of his research.
Pope Benedict XVI has appointed him an Academician of the Pontifical Academy of Sciences recently.
