Vonda White, author of SUCCESS AGAINST THE ODDS

Vonda White is the founder and CEO of Collegiate Risk Management and Student Insurance Inc.

She built two companies that serve thousands of students nationwide with student health and accident insurance and various ancillary insurance products.

Vonda has received numerous awards and much recognition for her efforts, including:

• Small Business of the Year award from the Tarpon Springs Chamber of Commerce (2005).
• Small Business of the Year award from the Upper Pinellas Chambers of Commerce (2005).
• Small Business of the Year award from the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce (2004).
• Small Business of the Year award from the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce (2003).
• Wachovia Woman Business Owner of the Year (2006).
• Business Woman of the Year by the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce (2004).
• Inductee into the Pinellas County Business Women’s Hall of Fame (2004).
• Small Business Administration’s Southeast Florida Division First Runner up for Small Business Person of the Year (2004).
• Woman of Achievement by St. Petersburg College’s Woman on the Way program (2004).
• The Tampa Bay Business Journal honored her in 1999 as a Distinguished Woman in Business Award Winner and in 2000 as one of the top 40 people in the Tampa Bay area under the age of 40.

Vonda is a graduate of Leadership Tampa (Class of 2005) and Leadership Pinellas (Class of 2000).

From 2000 to 2001, Vonda hosted a talk radio show on a Florida radio station called Let’s Talk Success.

She is also a member of the Entrepreneur Organization, Young Presidents Organization and the Tampa CEO Council.
