Mary McDonough Reveals Lessons From The Mountain And Her Career in Show Business
At the age of ten, Mary McDonough was cast as Erin Walton in The Homecoming, the movie of the week that inspired the Emmy award-winning dramatic series The Waltons.
Overnight, her life as a normal kid in a working-class family changed.
She left school, friends and the McDonough family to start a new life of studio classrooms, wardrobe fittings, travel, interviews, photo sessions, and memorizing lines.
Today, Mary is an award winning actor, writer and director. Her most recent role was a recurring one on The New Adventures of Old Christine. She’s guest starred on Will and Grace, ER, Boston Legal, the West Wing and dozens of other episodics. She starred in the made for television movie, Christmas at Cadillac Jack’s and will soon be seen in the upcoming film Lake Effects.
Mary’s also an outspoken activist who has spent years lobbying Congress on behalf of women’s health, specifically on the dangers of breast implants.
After years of health problems, she was diagnosed with Lupus and went on to become the president of Lupus LA.
After overcoming her own health crisis, Mary became a certified coach and public speaker seeking to help others heal their health, spirits and lives.
