David Kirkpatrick Discusses His Book The Facebook Effect
David Kirkpatrick may be the most knowledgeable person on Facebook living today. He wrote the detailed biography of Facebook and its founder, Mark Zuckerberg, titled The Facebook Effect: The Inside Story of the Company That is Connecting the World.
David shared his insight on the company and its meteoric rise with our listeners. He explained the three “tipping points” in Facebook’s history: 1) the NewsFeed 2) platform application features were opened up to outsiders and 3) the translation application that has allowed Facebook to appear in 80 languages.
Facebook was the first social media site to publish the user’s genuine identity. Facebook users spend four times as much time on Facebook than Google users spend on Google.
Mark Zuckerberg, like so many other successful entrepreneurs, is determined to have Facebook change the world.
