Doug Glanville Belts a Home Run Interview

Doug Glanville, author of The Game From Where I Stand: A Ballplayer’s Inside View, was my special guest on today’s BRAINSTORMIN’ with Billy the Brain on KKZZ AM 1400 in Ventura.

Doug is the first African-American Ivy Leaguer to make it to the Major Leagues. He had a successful 9-season career in the Majors with the Chicago Cubs (arch rivals to my beloved St. Louis Cardinals), the Philadelphia Phillies and the Texas Rangers.

What a wonderful radio guest! He is bright, articulate, knowledgeable and fun. He’s the only baseball player I’ve interviewed who could work the word fungible into the conversation.
