Steven Porter holds BS, MA, PhD, and PD degrees in fine arts and educational administration. He is the author of more than 20 books, the latest is titled Preserving America: Ten Things We Must Change to Survive.

Dr. Porter believes that each of eight links in the chain of education is not held accountable for their actions. The links are: 1) the child 2) the home 3) teachers 4) administrators 5) colleges 6) the boards of education 7) state governments that are responsible for education and 8) society.

Dr. Porter proposes an interesting idea. Require children to finish school before issuing a driver’s license.
