J. D. Petruzzi is a Civil War historian and author. He’s an expert on the Battle of Gettysburg—whose 148th anniversary is July 4th. We examine how the North’s success in the battle forged a unified nation from his book The New Gettysburg Campaign Handbook.

February is Black History Month. Dorma McGruder recited the Gettysburg Address for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., in Detroit at age 6. She’s studied modern society and she’ll tell us what needs to be done to stop an entire generation of young blacks from being wiped out as we look at the state of Black America today.
