Ventura’s Deputy Mayor, Mike Tracy, Talks About 3rd Quarter Priorities

Mike Tracy, Ventura’s Deputy Mayor, answered questions about issues facing Ventura; including the newly installed parking meters in downtown Ventura, a proposed ban on the use of trash bags and 3rd quarter priorities for the city.

Mike reported the top priorities for City Council are: 1) increasing the tax base (thereby increasing revenue) and 2) optimum use of the Auto Mall area.

Mike is a product of Ventura. He grew up on Ventura Avenue. He attended E.P. Foster, Avenue, De Anza, and Ventura High Schools. He received an AA Degree in liberal arts from Ventura College and a BA Degree in Sociology from California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks.

He was first elected to the Ventura City Council in November 2009.  He was appointed to the role of Deputy Mayor by his colleagues in December 2009, and will serve as Deputy Mayor for the first two years of his four-year term.
