Jacob Appel Examines Humanitarian Aid From His Book More Than Good Intentions
Jacob Appel studied mathematics at Columbia University and then spent two years as a field researcher with Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA) in Ghana, West Africa, studying microcredit.
Since 2008, he has traveled across Latin America, Africa, and Asia, working in the field with IPA and other development research organizations.
He is currently studying how street market microentrepreneurs make career decisions and manage their businesses in Kolkata, India, where he lives.
