Suz Montgomery & Doug Halter Battle Local Politics In A Political Roundtable
Suz Montgomery is an educator, activist, senior citizen advocate, political activist and local gadfly. Many listeners may know her as the host of Schmooze with Suz, a local television show on CAPS TV, channel 15, in Ventura.
Currently, she is an educator with the Ventura Unified School District, branding her education classes for seniors as the Schmooze with Suz. Suz works with seniors to tell their life’s story.
Doug Halter wears many hats in the community including Lead Trainer for the California State Positively Speaking program, Chair of the AIDS Partnership of Ventura County, former Chair the Ventura Chamber of Commerce, interim chair of the Downtown Ventura Community Council, Board member of the Visitors and Tourism Bureau, the Police Activities League, the Ventura Music Festival, the Historic Preservation Alliance, the San Buenaventura Foundation for the Arts, as well as participates on several committees. He has also been a Parks and Recreation Commissioner, Past President of AIDS Care, member of the Star Editorial Board, and a City Council candidate.
The Los Angeles Times declared him one of the people to watch in 1999 and he received the Ventura Citizen of the Year Award in 2001.
